A little more about this special Eco Retreat on the North Shore of Maui...
This is a special place full of real Hawaiian Mana (blessings).
You can feel it the moment you enter the land. For a vacation, a retreat or learning about sustainable living, this is a tropical paradise of your dreams. 15 organic acres with stunning views of oceans and rain forest. "Off the grid" with natural alkaline well water using solar power and bio diesel, this is truly a place to explore and connect with nature and your own inner vision. We are a five star certified green retreat and voted 'The Greenest Spot on Maui'.
We are nestled on the North Shore coastline surrounded by jungle, waterfalls and ocean looking toward the famous Coast of Hana. Sit in our Balinese Meditation Temple with Koi pond. Hike to the nearby ancient Hawaiian Heiau (Temple) and enjoy the many native plants and our permaculture gardens. Nearby you'll find a 100 foot waterfall with three natural swiming pools.
Our main house has large rooms with floor to ceiling windows, some overlooking our Koi (fish) and White Lotus pond, all with expansive ocean views and sliding glass doors to large private decks. The main house provides the water for our gardens and holds all the solar panels for our electricity. It is elegantly and sustainably designed to meld East and Western styles of living. Many beautiful statues and wood carvings give the land a sacred temple-like feeling. All rooms share a common living room and gourmet kitchen. Free high-speed wireless internet access in the entire house.

We have been caring for this sacred land since 1988 and are committed to living sustainably. We have designed all the structures with ecological and sustainable lumber mostly using bamboo and recycled materials. We are also expanding our vision with edible permaculture gardens. Our vision is a place of happiness where we celebrate good earth/soil, clean water, and air.
We have imported many of the stone and wood carvings from Asia. Our entire retreat is designed in a temple style perfect to blend Hawaiian design with Asian architecture. Our bamboo farm is an invitation for agriculture tourism and contributing to the new consciousness of alternative energy and living organically in harmony with nature.

What makes an Eco-Retreat?
Welcome to the new eco-conscious living.
Living of the grid is absolutely wonderful. We have plenty of electricity to serve all your needs with a full equipped kitchen, such as blender, coffee machine etc. Although we are off the grid our place is very elegant and nurturing. If you have never experienced being off the grid - you are in for a treat. Off the Grid means, we create our own electricity direct from the sun, we pump our own water from a well and live sustainable and self-sufficiently. All our houses are build to code with modern plumbing and if we did not tell you that we are off the grid, you would never know.
Our land was built and designed with ecologically friendly concepts in mind:
Solar Panels & Wells
We are “off the grid” because our electricity comes entirely from solar panels. Our water is pumped up from 460-foot wells connected to an underground aquifer.
Bio-Diesel
Sometimes the sky is cloudy for days on end and our solar powered system runs too low. We then run our generator using bio-diesel, which is fuel made from vegetable oil. Bio-diesel is now becoming a popular fuel for diesel cars around the island. Some bio-diesel engines run on specially converted vegetable oil, and some run on filtered cooking oil (think huge vats of french fry oil from the local fast food joint!). Bio-diesel runs much cleaner than petroleum and comes from fast-growing sources such as corn, sunflower, or hemp oil.
Organic Land & Compost
We do not use any agricultural chemicals in maintaining our beautiful grounds. All organic yard and kitchen wastes are disposed in a compost bin where it slowly breaks down into very rich, fertile compost.
Recycling
We put an emphasis on recycling and make sure to recycle cardboard, glass, and plastic containers. We offer these environmental services and ask your support of our Planet Earth by washing out any recyclable materials before placing them in the appropriate containers.
Vermiculture
All our extra office paper is shredded and put into a vermiculture system where it is fed to worms, which convert it into extremely rich worm castings (perfect for fertilizing the gardens)
Bee Keeping
We have a bee hive with one queen bee and about 10,000 worker bees. They pollinate all the fruit trees on the property. They are not dangerous and enhance fruit production for our pleasure. Their honey is pure and organic and is collected twice a year.
We are proud to be the leading green eco-resort on Maui and support the ever growing awareness of sustainable travelers. We look forward to welcoming you soon! back to top
